If you’re exploring innovative education opportunities, even without plans to homeschool, local homeschooling Facebook groups can be a valuable resource. Use your city or state name alongside “homeschooling” to locate groups in your area. Once you’re part of a group, ask about microschools or other innovative education options, and see if members can point you to additional resources or communities. You might uncover options you never knew existed right in your neighborhood!

You can also explore local parenting groups through Facebook and similar social media sites. In these spaces, ask about alternative education options, but be specific to avoid suggestions for traditional schools (unless that’s your goal). Mention that you’re searching for affordable, child-centered alternatives to conventional education and see what recommendations come your way.

Social media is an incredibly powerful tool for uncovering schools and learning spaces in your area that you might not have discovered otherwise.
